Gary's Page

This page is for my husband who has had hepatitis C for at least 25 years. He has done pretty well for many years and managed to keep up enough strength to work 30 years in factory work and raise three great sons . He is 56 years old .

The last several years though the disease has began to cause his decline in health . Last year he became very sick and had to go through many health procedures to get back on track. He went through many health tests as well and then was finally placed on a Liver Transplant list with UAMS in Little Rock , Arkansas. He has been on medication for the last year to control the fluid build up in his body and  to try to keep the veins from trying to bypass the liver into his esophagus and stomach . He has had the veins banded in his esophagus three times to date .The risk of those veins are severe hemorrhage .

I have been raising puppies for 10 years because I enjoy it as a side hobby . Gary has been helping me with it when he feels like feeding them or assisting in care etc. They all love him dearly , and so do I and the family.

Now as he goes forward , we have a lot of medical expense that we are looking at ahead of us , especially if he does well enough to be offered a liver at some point. We hope he can prolong with his own  liver as long as possible , as we know the road will be hard with the risk of Liver Transplant surgery and anti rejection drugs for the rest of his life . I have heard that many do well with all of this , so that is my prayer. God has blessed us with 35 years together and so we continue to pray that it will be many more years we have together.

My puppies are a way to help fund the excess expenses , so if you purchase a family member from me , you will be helping save one of mine . Our community has been a great support . People showed us how much they care.  Sometimes , you feel like you are in your battle alone , but our community restored our faith in human kindness and concern.

I also have been touched by the people who I have spoken to , and sold puppies to , who care and do not even know us. We both appreciate everyone's concern and kindness. God bless you all with many returns for what you have done in prayers and support , and continue to do for us as a family.
